12/22/09 - PM Update

Aiden is up to 4 lbs 13 oz. Steady weight gains are good!

He drank 60ml's (2 oz) tonight in 10 minutes flat! A new record for him. Nurse couldn't believe it. She remembers the last time she had him in level 3 NICU. Amazing turnaround for him. She seemed as proud of him as we are.

Aiden had presents for Mom and Dad tonight. (NICU staff must've helped him out) Some lotion and soap for Mom. Some cologne for Dad. Guess we smell a little funky after being there a while. Subtle, but we get the hint. Many thanks to the NICU personnel! Ummm....I mean Aiden.

He had 2 brady attacks today, one required mild stimulation.

He looks so wonderful. Hard to believe he's the same baby from 34 days ago. His personality has been very pleasant. Mild mannered, content, not a cry baby. He observes a lot and is strong with his hands. Good grip, Looking healthier each day. Good skin tone. Eyes still a shade of blue but could change.

He got his first 'F' yesterday. He failed his initial hearing test. Test was done during daytime hours when it is louder from increased activity in NICU. Normally tested at night when it's quieter and babies are calmer. Scheduled to retest in the next few days or possibly after he comes home. A Jones getting an 'F' for not listening...unheard of! (no pun intended).

We hope everyone has a great Christmas!

  1. The nurses probably haven't heard about the "Jones tuneout" all males are afflicted with it from birth. It has NEVER skipped a generation.
