Aiden scared the heck out of Mom today. Had several Brady's (heart rate drops). Went down into the 40's and nobody responded. Apparently the nurses were watching the monitors from other rooms but that didn't do much for Mom's nerves and anxiety. Of course, Dad wanted answers and was being routed through the operator to the NICU when Mom called back with calming news that the last Brady had stopped. Dad was ready to question everyone for not responding to Aiden's crib. Besides, Mom could have been having a heart attack and may have needed help for herself.
Aiden has made it to 4lbs 5 oz tonight! Sucked down 37ml's in 10 min flat. Must've found a favorite nip. Dad told Mom someone must've put a Hooter Girl Bobble Boob in front of him for motivation. She says my "clogged arteries cutting off circulation to my brain." Cheap shot. She knows I have high cholesterol and she knows how sensitive I am. So unfair. So like.... her.
Aiden looks good tonight. Alert, active, and all bundled up. Adorable!!! He's crying out and cooing right now. Sounds like a wheezing dog but sounds so cute. Our dog Yahtzee would think he's a squeaker toy.
It's time to recognize that his great progress is slowing. He came so far so fast and his daily progress has been amazing. Now, his progress will likely level off and become more normal. As he continues to grow and develop over the next several months, we will begin to realize what, if any, significant challenges may loom on the horizon. He's proven resilient. He's proven to fight. And he's wore his Daddy plumb out!
Although we know many great challenges have yet to present themselves, we will continue to be grateful for the opportunities presented and thankful for the love, support, and encouragement of our families, friends, and strangers. We will continue to pray and maintain our faith that together, as a family should be, we will watch Aiden overcome all odds and adversity. He will inspire, as he already has, for many years to come.
He's here to stay. This we believe. This he has proven.
P.S. He will come home, wreak havock on his siblings, learn bad things from his sister, learn poor excuses from his brother, and develop into his own. He was born a Jones. His behavior is predictable.

I just want you all to know how touched I am by all of this. Stacey, your mom let me know what was happening, and I've read every blog posted so far. You are amazing, strong, faith filled people. You are truly inspiring. I will pray for you all and especially Aiden. I beleive that he was chosen by God for you with a purpose that is greater than anything we can comprehend.
