11/28 - P.M. Update

Aiden continues to do surprisingly well.

He's down to 3 lbs 5 oz.

Had his oxygen tube removed today. It was left on to keep his air sacks open but the docs think he will be fine on his own now. Watching the nurse pull off the tape holding the oxygen tube in place made dad wince. Looked painful and Aiden didn't seem impressed. Settled right down afterwards. Probably glad he had some skin left.

A few sneezes and a random cough but nothing of concern at the moment. Aiden seems to be holding his own.

Orders have been written to move Aiden to level 2 NICU but as of 6pm tonight, he hasn't been moved. Could be a day or two but it's definitely in the works.

Seems the biggest concerns right now are keeping Aiden from getting any kind of infection and getting him to gain weight.

Brandon and Mikayla got to hold Aiden today. Starting to sink in that Aiden will be coming home and he's going to be okay. Lots of challenges and bumps in the road ahead but very fortunate to be where we are this soon. Keep praying with us for Aiden.

Response to Joe Pete's post has been amusing. Not many comments on the blog but the cell phone text and private email response has been great. Mom is not amused.
